From idea to reality: Why I built ko&co workhub

Working for yourself shouldn't mean working alone!
When I launched Kendra Creative, I built it on a belief that strategy, design, and creativity should never feel disconnected from the people they’re for. It should be smart, yes, but also human, grounded, and real. Over time, one thing became increasingly clear—if we want to create meaningful brands, campaigns, and business strategies, we also need to rethink the environments we work in.
That realisation is what led me to build ko&co workhub.
The spark behind ko&co workhub ko&co workhub wasn’t born from a business plan. It came from a feeling. After years of working in amazing, creative environments filled with energy, banter, and the occasional office snack and drinks cart with cheesy tunes blaring, I went out on my own. I found myself working alone—and often not in a good, focused way.
I missed the buzz. I missed the watercooler ideas that spark something big. I missed the kitchen chats that made a Monday feel less like a Monday. Oh, and how I missed the Meerkat moments over the partitions from my colleagues! I missed the energy. Shared momentum. Humans…. Actual humans!
Working for yourself doesn’t mean you want to work by yourself. And as much as we love a good plant in our homes and a well-angled Teams call, ChatGPT (or your cat) is not your coworker!
I wanted a workplace that brought back the best parts of being surrounded by brilliant minds—but without the corporate buzzwords or the rigid formality. I wanted a space where I could work, host, collaborate, and create—a place where other people doing big things (and small things that matter) could do the same without having to do it all alone.

Building with a brand from day one, ko&co workhub has been designed the same way I approach building any brand: with intention. Every design choice, every quote on the wall, and every layer of language was crafted with a clear purpose—to make people feel something. To make them feel welcome.
Yes, we needed desks. But we also needed light, texture, warmth, honesty, and a bit of sass. We needed a space that was more than a layout—it needed to have a voice. And not just mine. The people who will work within it, had to be part of it, too.
That’s why ko&co workhub isn’t just a coworking space. It’s a workplace. A shared office. A creative engine. A community for the doers, dreamers, and the in-betweeners. It’s for people who want to build something meaningful and not feel so alone while doing it. The space is important, but the people are the point.
What happens when brand thinking meets space? I’ve never really called myself a strategist, but I have realised that if you’re building brands with intention, connecting dots across creativity and culture, and shaping experiences that feel like something, you’re doing strategy, whether you label it or not.
And so, ko&co workhub is the physical extension of that idea. It’s the strategy you can walk into. It’s a brand you can plug into with your laptop and actually feel something.
We talk a lot about building businesses around values. ko&co workhub is built around mine: community, connection, creativity, and the kind of culture that makes you want to show up—not just to tick a to-do list but to actually enjoy the workday.
And if you're someone who wants a place to work that doesn’t feel like work—a place with creativity, clarity, and a bit of personality—then this space might be for you.
Let’s work together Whether you’re looking for a workplace, a creative collaborator, or a strategic partner, Kendra Creative and ko&co workhub are built on the same belief: good things happen when values and vision align.
Come by for a coffee. Bring your big ideas. Take the leap (and yes, that is the name of a meeting room)! And let’s make something great together.
Cheers Kendra x
